Welcome to a space where you are seen, heard, and valued.
My office is an inclusive, judgment-free environment where people of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences are respected and embraced. You are welcome exactly as you are. I honor diversity in all its forms—race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, religion, and beyond—and am committed to creating a space rooted in compassion, respect, and acceptance.
As a clinical social worker with over 30 years experience working with children, youth and young adults in public school settings, I have extensive experience in school-related needs and challenges. However, I have other related interests too! Emotional regulation, creative expression, animal-assisted therapy, and early career exploration are all in my toolbox.
Areas of Specialization
School-Related Needs & Challenges
In addition to traditional counseling, I help families navigate school systems, decode educational jargon, and support young adults in discovering their post-secondary path.
Animal Assisted Psychotherapy
With a life-long interest in the human-animal bond, I am currently working on my certification as an animal-assisted psychotherapist through the Animal Assisted Therapy Programs of Colorado. I am the owner and handler of a former therapy dog, Arnie, and I often partner with cats and kittens in my work with young people. I even have four fabulous goats at home!
Creative Expression
While I am not a formally-trained art therapist, I have a long-term interest in alternative, creative expression largely because traditional talk therapy doesn’t meet the needs of all clients, particularly young children.
Emotional Regulation
Many people can feel overwhelmed or exhausted by their children’s “meltdowns,” “temper tantrums” or “outbursts” at home or at school. What can you do? I’m here to help you and your child manage those big feelings.
